Jackson Street Bridge & Freedom Park Trail

FALL BACK in love with the ATL skyline on this fun city walk along the Freedom Park Trail and into Downtown. We will START & FINISH our adventure at the iconic Jackson Street Bridge, which will give us a whole spectrum of lighting scenarios from daylight to dark. Also, if we are lucky, the trees along Freedom Park Trail and those that flank the city view from the bridge, will offer some nice, contrasting texture and color for a seasonal fall city walk.

Let’s meet on the bridge at 3:00pm sharp, and then start walking along the Freedom Trail that runs west along Highland Ave, straight into Downtown. We’ll see some different perspectives along this route, stopping briefly at the edge of Downtown for some street shooting along Courtland St. Then we’ll head back towards the bridge via JW Dobbs/Irwin Street just in time for sunset & light trails on the bridge (target time approx 5:15p). Route map coming soon.

Some Helpful Tips:

• Make sure you set your clock back 1 hour! FALL BACK starts today!

• Please be ON TIME at 3:00pm sharp so we can stay on schedule and make it back before sunset (sunset approx 5:40p, so our target arrival time should be approx. 5:15p)

• This walk is approx. a 1.8 mile loop

• A tripod is recommended for shooting from the bridge at sunset. If you park on the street nearby, consider placing your tripod in the trunk of your car during the walk (only if you feel comfortable doing so). Never leave valuables in your car’s open/exposed interior.

PARKING & MARTA:

Street parking is very limited in the area, so please consider a ride share (Uber, Lyft, carpool), biking, walking or public transportation. Cain Street & JW Dobbs both have limited street parking, first come/serve. You may have to drive around a bit to find other nearby street parking, so plan accordingly and please ARRIVE ON TIME!

King Memorial is the nearest MARTA Station, it’s about 0.8 miles or a 15-20 minute walk.
